Gold & Silver Roots Abstract Sculpture

Oak stump cleaned, cut and sealed before adding over 8 layers of gold, silver, and yellow-gold foil paper, capturing the Oak’s naturally beautiful texture. The base is made of resin epoxy with textured stone paint and a felt lined bottom. 18in tall, 2ft wide and 10in deep, around 10lbs. This took well over a hundred hours to make, after experimenting with various base designs as well as what style/colors to decorate the oak with. I went through three completely different designs before I came up with the gold foil, and I discovered the hard way that foil art is very difficult on very textured surfaces, which is why it took 8 layers, as you can see in the making of-video soon to come on my CMoDesignz youtube channel.
